The 27-year-old Fowler hit .263 with 18 doubles, 42 RBIs and 19 stolen bases in 119 games last season. Fowler, a switch-hitter who primarily plays center field, hit .300 in 2012.
Fowler started the game and singled in the first inning. He was then caught stealing and was replaced by Charlie Blackmon to start the second. Fowler is hitting .263 with 12 home runs and 18 stolen bases this season. He missed nine games in July because of a bone bruise in his right hand. This injury doesn't seem to be serious.
The Rockies said he is day to day.

Fowler finished with four hits and is batting .436 (17 for 39) in his last nine games.
Fowler is hitting .366 during a torrid 21-game stretch.
