Dennis Ritchie was a pioneer in the world of computer science. He created the C programming language, and was instrumental in developing the UNIX operating system -- technologies that are at the foundation of much of our digital lives.
This past weekend, Dennis Ritchie died at the age of 70.
Brian Kernighan is a Canadian computer scientist who, along with Dennis, co-authored the seminal computer programming book The C Programming Language, which was sometimes known as K&R for Kernighan and Ritchie.
