Full Interview: Ian MacKaye on Fugazi's Digital Archive

We heard that Fugazi -- the legendary DIY punk band from Washington, DC -- was creating an online database of almost every live show since 1987. It kind of boggled the mind, so we called up Ian MacKaye from the band to find out what he was up to. In a closet, Ian has about 850 cassettes and dats of live Fugazi recordings, plus alternate versions sent in from fans. Now, he is digitizing and editing them for download. The goal is to make the material available to as many fans as possible.

A shorter version of this interview will air on the 149th episode of Spark, but right now, here's Nora's full conversation with Ian Mackaye of Fugazi. Listen below, or download the MP3. [runs 20:50]
