The other day, Spark's Anshuman Iddamsetty and I headed off to the ThingTank Lab, where we were met by the lab's director, Matt Ratto. We had a little tour, and we assembled a cool glowing necklace, made by modding Adafruit's iNecklace. Matt used the lab's 3D printer to print out a plastic necklace shell and their laser cutter to create an image of the CBC logo.

Our CBC colleague, videographer Ryan Couldrey met us at the lab and shot the video. Thanks, Ryan!

Matt Ratto is also an assistant professor in the Faculty of Information at the University of Toronto. We sat down at the lab and had a good, long chat about what he calls "critical making" and why its time has come. You can hear that interview here. http://vimeo.com/38185901
