Time for the results of our little experiment. We asked you to send a 30 second video beginning with either the words “I feel connected…” or “I feel disconnected…” The goal was to create one piece of video art from all the submissions.
The range of submissions, quite frankly, was fantastic. Now, we are happy to announce that the final video mashup is complete and ready for your enjoyment.
We received far more videos beginning with “I feel connected…” than “I feel disconnected…”, so we stuck with that theme. At least a small piece has been used from every single person who sent something in. Thank you again to all contributors. They are:
Alex Cruz (Edinburg Texas); Alex Pena (Mcallen, Texas); Ayo Olanrewaju (Edmonton, Alberta); Ian Patton (Edmonton, Alberta); Jackie, Kayla and Randy (Edinburg Texas); Jacob Rodriguez (Edinburg, Texas); Jesse Garcia (Edinburg, Texas); Juan Gonzalez (Edinburg, Texas); Lee Rosevere (Vancouver, BC); Margarita Hernandez (Edinburg, Texas); Mary Juric (Toronto, Ontario); Stewy1990 (Texas); Parvati Devi (Toronto, Ontario); Patrick Horneker (Michigan City, Indiana); Rene Platas, Monica Cortez and Samantha Olivarez (Edinburg, Texas); Rochelle Mazar (Toronto, Ontario); Romeo Sanchez (Edinburg, Texas); Sarah Villeda (Mcallen, Texas); Stephanie Fehler (Hinton, Alberta); Tony Barreto, Jr. (Mcallen, Texas)
Hi guys … thanks for including my wee bit of banjo at the end. What's really cool is to look down the list of contributors and see where they all come from. Folks from all over the planet connecting … the ageing hippie in me says, "right on man."
Hello Ian – Yes, it's true. You may notice a rather large number of submissions from Texas. That's because Danika Brown, an English professor at the University of Texas, made taking part an optional assignment for some of her students. Very cool
Hi Carma … for a couple of seconds I thought, "wow, look at all those posts from Scotland" LOL.
Hmm… that makes sense, I was wondering about the texas connection. Sounds like a pretty awesome school assignment
The banjo provided a fitting end – definitely a highlight for me. Great job Ian!
Awesome! All the video contributions seem to go together smoothly =)
Thank you for your excellent submission Rene.
Looks fantastic! haha I see you managed to squeeze me in…
It was neat to see the videos with multiple people in them (the video game guys, hugging girls, and the folks in the park) – that's the essence of connection right there.
Great mashup! I'm glad to have been a part of it.
