Vancouver’s Boris Wertz is in Toronto for the Canadian Innovation Exchange forum today. Boris is CEO, W Media Ventures, and what’s called a “super angel” investor. He specializes in finding consumer-oriented, Internet startups to invest in, and he has a history as an entrepreneur himself. What do venture capitalists and angel investors look for in tech startups? How can a tech company with a smart idea catch an investors eye? Should startups get outside investors at all, or as Anil Dash suggested recently, try going it alone?
