The last episode of Spark’s second season will air on June 24 & 27, 2009. Thanks to everyone who listened and visited us at here at the blog. Thanks to your support, Spark will be back with new episodes, a new length, and a new timeslot at the beginning of September. In the meantime, Spark production is on hiatus.
So here’s our plan for the summer:
Over the air on CBC Radio One, we’ll air “encore presentations” of our favourite episodes from the past season. You can hear Spark Tuesdays at 3:00pm (in some parts of the country), and Saturdays at 4:00/4:30 NT. A full list of repeat airdates is below.
If you subscribe to the Spark podcast, please stay subscribed. Each week we’ll feature a different, long-form interview or panel. They’ll come out on Wednesdays, as usual. For a full list, see below.
And the blog? Much as we love the blog, there are no resources available for maintaining it while we’re on hiatus. If you’d like to leave a story idea for next season, we’d love to read what you have to say. Leave a comment below, or contact us by phone, Twitter, or email. We’ll be back to blogging as soon as we get production underway in mid-August.
Thanks again for listening!

I love your show, and I just caught up on the last several episodes as I weeded the garden. I was so excited to hear that it will be an hour show that I had to comment to let you know that I think that's a fantastic development.
Also, I know Elizabeth's mom. I work for APSEA, as she did, with students who are visually impaired, so any of the adaptive technology stories are of particular interest to me. I'm very excited about some of the technologies being developed that could potentially make thing much easier for some of my students!
Have a great summer!

We're really excited about the hour-long format, too. We've just started mulling over what we might like it to sound like, and we're always up for hearing what people want in a newly imagined Spark

Nora – Excited that your team will be on for an hour come September. Not too excited that we'll be "almost" Sparkless until then.
Would love to give suggestions, but I'm not sure (and maybe others aren't as well) in what direction you want to go.
There is that book that just came out that is causing quite a buzz thee days. I think the author's name is Chris Anderson. The book is called "Free".
France also passed a law recently about outlawing digital piracy (something like this – not sure of the proper terminology) Paul McGuiness (of U2 fame) and others have commented positively on this.
Wonder if there's anything in the above 2 cases that might be a basis for an episode or two.
Cheers and enjoy your summer vacation!

I just saw this on Cabinet of Wonders and reminded me of the sewing spot on episode 58. Perhaps you'd find this sewing-related story interesting too:
