I’ve stumbled across a couple of well done documentaries lately that I thought you might be interested in. They touch on a lot of the same topics we talk about on Spark, and some of the experts interviewed in the docs have also appeared on Spark.
These shows aired on CBC TV’s show, Doc Zone.
Web Warriors (about hackers, viruses and botnets)
Cell Phone: The Ring Heard Around the World (looks at mobiles in Japan, India, and what’s coming down the pipe)
There’s a Canadian documentary on culture and copyright cleaning up audience choice awards on the festival circuit. It’s call “RiP: a remix manifesto” (http://nfb.ca/rip-a-remix-manifesto).
More interesting, director Brett Gaylor has published raw footage under CC and invited audience participation via http://www.opensourcecinema.org/.
I watched RiP at a press screening and became a fan. It’s freaking great!
It’s apparently scheduled for broadcast on the documentary channel and will ultimately be available for free download. If you get a chance to see if beforehand, take it!
