Last week, we asked if you would vote over the internet in a federal election. You voted online (sometimes, more than once), and as promised, here are the results:

Yes: 69%
No: 21%
Maybe: 10%

Thanks to all who voted, and left their comments.

As per the BBC website recently, Brazil has electronic ballot machines and mandatory voting. The ballot machines feature candidate photos and a simple selection key similar to a phone pad.

Canada having such an advanced economy, we choose to pursue the tried and true method of paper-pushing.

The Brazilian mode would allow for instantaneous results, would this ruin the drama of the CBC election night presentation?

    Curious!

This should go further than elections. Let us give a vote on bills. It just might change the mind about what some bills MPs think are important and show politicians how Canadians want their country governed

I'm worrie about secutiry and ensuring that people only vote once and they are eligable to vote. We should not have compulsive voting as i think abstaining from a vote should be a right, especially if peope are not political. I also think that democracy is but one part of responsible government and while we should elect the Senate and Governor General I would not support direct democracy.
