Wow, I’m on a show with Merlin Mann, Amber Mac, *and* Nora Young. I’m honoured.
@00:13:00 regarding the audience’s unfortunate story about how she lost her photos in the dead powerbook, I have a few comments:
- Give Spinrite a try! I don’t intent to sell you the software but I have heard thousands of stories about how Spinrite fixes dead HD. Get it from grc.com
- if you have MacOS X Leopard installed I encourage you to get an inexpensive external hard drive and use Time Machine to backup
@ Jeepu,
As a new Mac person, I’m excited by the ease of Time Machine.
Hey guys,
I just want to comment on Merlin’s comment about Plaxo.
Come on mann, you are going to suggest a third party source for syncing calendars and contacts?? Heard of LDAP / CALDAV? With you own server. Don’t preach solutions. Please. You are fed by special interest.
In the full version of my interview with Nora, I mentioned that blogging, podcasting, and RSS pioneer Dave Winer of scripting.com got me started on this “digital executor” concept, with his March 2007 blog posts about how to preserve your digital ideas in the long term. Worth reading.
