I confess, I lie online. Not outrageously, but I do lie about my home address. Sometimes a website will ask me to register by entering my home address and I don’t want to. Or sometimes it will only accept an american zip code, so I lie and enter the only one I can remember…
90210
Give me a break, it’s the only US zip code I know by heart. (I still love you Luke Perry.)
My other favorite lie? “Hi, I’m in the cab right now. I’m just one block away. I’ll be there any minute.”
Chances are, I am not in the cab and I am more like 15 blocks away. C’mon, you know you do it too.
OK, so I’ve lied online and I’ve used my cell phone to lie.
What about you? Do you lie on the web, by text message, by phone?
Don’t leave me hanging here. Post your comment and we’ll work it into next week’s show.
Hi there,I laughed out loud….90210…I’ve used that a couple dozen times myself, I thought I was being kind of smart…I am now guessing that I am just one of many. Lied about my address on the web—yes, my cell number—yes, also a few tiny white lies…marital status on Facebook…among others…no bad intentions…just havin’ fun….see ya.
Pretty good post. I just came across your site and wanted to say that I've really liked browsing your posts. I hope you post again soon!
Just downloaded it on my iPhone and enjoy it! I believe SCVNGR is SO much better than Foursquare simply because of the game dynamics that they’ve built into it. Now they simply need to accumulate their user base because not a single person I know is using it.
I’m guessing that Foursquare will simply add on some of the features that SCVNGR has in order to compete.
Very interesting post. Certainly a lot of good points. Very happy I found your site. Will bookmark it and check back for more information.
