About a week ago we posted a videocast of Alex Steffen speaking at PopTech! Alex is the executive editor of Worldchanging.com, a green blog that highlights sustainability, humanitarian and design issues.
Alex spoke to Nora about the concept of sharing and how we need to move from a culture that values things to a culture that values experience. He explains that there are lots of things we own that we could actually share with neighbours. It’s a really interesting interview that looks at why we need to ask these questions now. At the end of the interview, Alex lists some of the best resources for green innovation tips.
Enjoy!
I’ve heard of this idea of sharing things that u don’t use that often, instead of buying them and I’m pretty intrigued by it. Mostly because I’ve been renovating recently and found myself in need of a couple of tools. Since I’m a cashed strapped student i couldn’t go out and by the tools ($70 for a stud-finder … that’s like 2 months worth of KD) I started looking for these tool-libraries. But I couldn’t find any in Toronto … does anyone know of any?
