Canada Reads, CBC’s annual “battle of the books” is coming up the week of February 25th. They’ve always had a lot of extra content and resources at their website, but this year, they’re including lots of interactive content, such as polls, contests, and a Facebook group.
They’ve also just launched a forum today. It’s a spot where you can talk about the nominated books and panelists, suggest your own picks and more. So if you’ve got a hankering for a lively virtual book club, head on over here

Is there a faster way to get people’s eyes rolling than to propose a long meeting?
What makes conventional meetings so bad? Do you have meeting horror stories? Personally, it drives me crazy when one person hijacks a meeting for a personal agenda. Grrr.
Or how about conferences? Many people say that the best part of conferences are the informal breakaway sessions and hallway conversations you have. So why do we stick to the conventional conference format?
Let me know your thoughts about meetings and conferences by leaving a comment here at the blog. Or, you can take a look at the story members of the Spark community and I are crafting about “meetings 2.0″. It’s here at the wiki.

Google knows a lot about me. I use their services for my personal email, my calendar, and my documents. However, they don’t know about my prescriptions, medical history, or exercise habits.
Yet.
Yesterday, Google Blogoscoped tracked down a login screen for the search giant’s long-awaited health product. On that screen, Google claims you can:
* Build online health profiles that belong to you
* Download medical records from doctors and pharmacies
* Get personalized health guidance and relevant news
* Find qualified doctors and connect to time-saving services
* Share selected information with family or caregivers
Will this coming web-ification of health records have an effect on “cyberchondria?”
What do you think? How much information about your family’s personal health would you give to a service like this?
