NEW SoundXchange Literary Submission Guidelines

NEW Literary Submission Guidelines

I am looking for short (1000 words or less) pieces of fiction, poetry, and creative non-fiction, including comic writing by Saskatchewan writers. I am especially interested in first person monologues, fictional or creation non-fictional. We are not looking for any particular subject matter, just vibrant, ear-catching writing, which will then be recorded either by the writer, or by some of the best actors working in Saskatchewan. We are committed to be part of a supportive, growing and developmental arts community-- so new, emerging writers from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Rates for submissions are dependent on the nature of the submission, and Canadian Writers' Guild and Canadian Media Guild agreements.

Already published work is of interest, but the negotiations will be with the publisher.

Submissions, or inquiries regarding submissions can be submitted electronically by e-mailing me at

with the subject title "SoundXchange Submission"

or by standard mail to

KJB-BnW-250px-055.jpgI want to that all the artists, producers, engineers, journalists, hosts, coordinators and ARTISTS--writers, musicians comedians and all that made this and every show possible this season---and draw particular attention to Shauna Powers, music producer extraordinaire and the X's ridiculously talented recording engineer Chris Haynes--who are leaving the show. You'll be hearing their work for a while yet, as the X continues to benefit from their gifts in the fall, but we won't be seeing them much around the old clubhouse...as they go onto new work for CBC Sask--they're leaving a high note, as they have been given the the national CBC President's Award for their work on the fantastic Sing Africa! choral project, which you've been hearing choice bits of throughout the past season.....and a big shout out to our wonderful arts reporter Britainy Robinson, who has been such a joy to work with this year.

Thank you for listening, thank you for supporting Saskatchewan arts and artists. I wish you the best of all possible times til we talk again....we at SoundXchange love being part of your weekend. Happy Canada Day--Happy Summer.
