The Omnibus Budget Bill, Plus Legislature Wraps

For hours MPs voted on 871 amendments to the Conservatives' sweeping omnibus budget bill. All were defeated by the government majority, but the Opposition did win some attention to a budget bill that deals with a whole lot more than finances.  Meanwhile, our provincial MLAs were likely better rested than their federal counterparts as the legislature wrapped for the summer. Our political panel - Lisa Keenan, Michael Camp and Jean Saint-Cyr - looks at the issues.

Panel: Higgs Still Mum On Blaney, and Fisheries Act Changes

It has been difficult to pin down Finance Minister Blaine Higgs' opinion of Margaret Ann Blaney's appointment to Efficiency NB. And the changes to the fisheries act downloads many responsibilities to the province.
