There are 1,068 candidates running for seats in the province's 105 local municipalities in the May 14 election. In fact Shift's own Luc Desjardins will shortly be acclaimed as mayor of Petit Rocher. He joins us along with panelists Michael Camp and Lisa Keenan to talk about local politics and the issues that all voters should keep in mind.

It could have been a one-two punch for New Brunswickers this week with the provincial budget and then the federal. It's fair to say public servants at both levels were feeling the pre-budget chill. It may take months or years for the full impact of this week's financial plans to unravel.
