NB's Organic Industry

Artful Persuasion: A Crafters' Co-op!

artful.jpgYou don't have to wait for a farmers' market or craft fair to pick up handmade mittens, jewelry, purses or toys in Fredericton. A group of crafters and artisans have opened a year-round store downtown called Artful Persuasion. It's a co-op run by its members. Sarah Smith-Stewart is one of its founders and she explains the idea.

Nick the Butcher

butcher.jpgNick Smith learned the art of butchery from an old school butcher in Vancouver. He's now returned to his roots in Hampton where he's started his own business at Kredl's Corner Market. He uses only local, grass fed meat and he commits to buying and using the whole animal. (Photo: Nick the Butcher)
