Enbridge Responds

Enbridge Gas is taking another shot at the provincial government for introducing legislation last month that will force the company to lower prices it charges New Brunswick customers. Enbridge says some natural gas users pay too much because three of the province's largest companies are paying little or nothing.

Former CSIS Official On Espionage Charges

A Canadian naval intelligence officer has been charged with espionage. Sub-Lieutentent Jeffrey Delisle faces two charges of violating the federal Security of Information of Act. It's not clear what information Delisle is accused of passing or to whom it was passed. But Michel Juneau-Katsuya says there could be serious implications for national security. He's a national security expert and former senior intelligence officer at CSIS.

Report On Canadian Blood Services

Those hoping to prevent the closing of New Brunswick's only blood processing lab have lost a key ally. Health Minister Madeleine Dubé announced today that the province will maintain its relationship with the Canadian Blood Services Agency even though that organization is going to close its Saint John lab and move operations to Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.  Connell Smith has the details.

Major Overhaul Of Education System

New Brunswick is looking at a major overhaul of its education system that will include cutting the number of school districts in half. Education Minister Jody Carr announced the changes this morning. They come with a savings in the order of 5 million dollars a year which will be reinvested at the school and classroom level. The CBC's Susan King was at the announcement.
