Scientist Able to Glean New Information From Right Whale Poop
It's not easy to get blood samples from a whale, but concrete information about hormone and biotoxin levels is needed if scientists are to understand how populations are faring. This is especially true for threatened populations such as the Bay of Fundy's North Atlantic Right Whales. New England Aquarium senior scientist Rosalind Rolland has pioneered a way to get the needed measurements from whale poop.
