L'Anse Amour - Village of Seven, Labrador/Newfoundland

Village of Seven

Seven wonders? How about one each for the inhabitants of L’Anse Amour in Labrador? That’s right – there are only seven members of this cozy town – all of them members of the friendly Davis family. They now run the Lighthouse Cove Bed and Breakfast – and are famous for their hospitality, civic pride, and partridgeberry pies.

Other attractions in the area include the tallest lighthouse in Atlantic Canada at Point Amour, The Bakeapple Folk Festival, one of the longest running festivals in the province, the Maritime Archaic Burial Mound, the oldest funeral monument in the “new world”. And of course, L’Anse Amour is also the site of many fascinating shipwrecks.

Sometimes a wonder is a small place, with a lot of heart!
