One of Canada’s best kept secrets, the canal, at 175 years strong, is a feat of human ingenuity, engineering, and dogged perseverance. The Long Island Locks are arguably the most beautiful along the canal, their majestic cut stone arched dam holding back 40 km of the Rideau.

World's longest skating rink. The 7.8 kilometre stretch of "Skateway" winds its way through downtown Ottawa and handles an average of one million skaters per year.

Thom Fountain

I choose the Canal as it is older and in fact is celebrating its 175th Anniverary this year. Considering when it was built and how it has survived and today is more popular because of Winterlude than it has ever been.  It is currently being considered as a World Heritage Site.
