About the Host

Much like the lyrics of the classic song, Dan Reynish can also claim "I've Been Everywhere." After his birth in New Brunswick, his Prince Albert father and Newfoundland mother moved the family to Manitoba, Ontario, Germany, and then Prince Edward Island. Dan then picked up where his parents left off and he moved to Nova Scotia and back to Ontario before settling down in Saskatchewan. Dan's broadcasting career started when his parents brought him home from the hospital and he wouldn't go to sleep until they turned the radio on. Following years of peaceful rest, Dan's actual radio career started in the record library at CFN Radio (a CBC affiliate) in Lahr, Germany and continued in Summerside, Halifax, Toronto, and Saskatchewan.

Now, after a term representing Terry Fox, one of his idols (he also admires Jim Henson and Mel Blanc), Dan returned to his broadcasting roots with Saskatchewan Weekend.

In addition to his CBC responsibilities, Dan is also an Arts & Entertainment specialist - the type of person you want helping you with your Oscar pool and on your Trivial Pursuit team - and a huge supporter of The Maple Leafs and Blue Jays.
