Gateway Music Festival Lineup Announced - Michael Dawson

GatewayLogo.jpgThe lineup for the 9th Annual Gateway Festival in Bengough, SK, was announced this week and it includes Steve Earle & The Dukes, Corb Lund & The Hurtin' Albertans, Blake Berglund, Close Talker and many others.

Michael Dawson is the Artistic Director and he spoke with Dan about how it all came together.

Juno Award Winning Musician Ron Sexsmith

ron.pngRon Sexsmith has recently released his thirteenth full length recording called FOREVER ENDEAVOUR.

Ahead of his latest show in Saskatoon the two time Juno Award winner spoke with Dan about making music, playing in The Bridge City, and what it's like to have earned the admiration of musicians like Elvis Costello, Paul McCartney, Rod Stewart and Coldplay's Chris Martin.

The University Sports Report with Peter Mills - National Championship Weekend - Saturday

The University Cup men's hockey tournament is being played in Saskatoon and the women's basketball tournament in Regina, with teams there playing for the Bronze Baby.

Rest In Peace Stompin' Tom Connors

StompinTomFlag.JPGCanadian music icon Stompin' Tom Connors - from Skinners Pond, Prince Edward Island - died this week at the age of 77.

Dan grew up on P.E.I. and he speaks about that, what Stompin' Tom's music still means to him & the Island today and shares a few thoughts on Tom, his songs, and its use on the television show SCTV.

Amber Marshall has been one of the stars of HEARTLAND since the very beginning and she talked with Dan about playing Amy, her horse, doing 100 episodes and more.
