Candidates:

  NDP: Clay Serby
  SASK: Randy Atkinson
  Liberal: Chuck Gunning
  WIP: Bruce Ritter

Current MLA: Clay Serby (NDP) is the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Revitalization.

Constituency Profile: This is a mixed urban/rural constituency. Yorkton is the agricultural service centre for east-central Sask. Yorkton has a significant manufacturing base. Leon's Manufacturing, Morris Industries, Ram Industries, and Ram Rod Equipment all make farm and agriculture-related implements. There are also a large number of service sector employees in Yorkton. Several small communities outside of Yorkton are also in the riding, including Orcadia, Mehan, Fonhill, Willowbrook, Enfin, Chrysler and Rokeby.

 

 

Political History: The boundaries have changed since the last election. The Yorkton riding now includes some polls from the Melville riding.
