Roots & Wings Show #500 - World Music Library
Contest
In celebration of Roots & Wings show #500, I am giving away 500 CDs in 10 prize
packs of 50 CDs each.
Here's where you can view the entire list of 50 CDs.
These world music libraries are available to be won by any public or charitable
institution across the country with lending, listening, or broadcast facilities
(think libraries, schools, hospices, community radio stations, rehab centres,
friendship centres, transition houses, and the like.)
You, the listener, are invited to nominate your favourite place to win one of
the 10 prize packages. All you have to do is write and tell us where your
chosen place is and why you think it is deserving of a library of 50 world music
CDs. Remember, we're hoping to reach as many ears as possible with these music
collections, so think "outreach" when you make a nomination.
To complete an entry you'll need to include:
1. your own name, address and phone number or email address (a phone or email
address is necessary in case we need to reach you to confirm details about your
nomination)
2. the name and address of the place you are nominating, and
a short note explaining why you'd like to see that place win a world music CD
library.
For purposes of the draw, we will divide the country into 5 geographic regions
and draw 2 winners from each of these 5 regions. The draw will take place on
March 3rd at the CBC Broadcast Centre in Toronto. Winners will be announced on
Roots & Wings on March 6th.
Good luck.

A great big "THANK YOU!" is due to all the artists, labels, distributors
and others in Canada and around the world (as listed above) who so generously
offered the CDs for the prize packages. Your music rocks, and your support is
appreciated.
Thanks also to Li Robbins, whose simple and elegant show concept has had the legs to last 500 episodes.
