The People Around Jazz- 1960
A documentary from February 1960 called The People Around Jazz. It was a time when jazz musicians and their fans
were viewed with some suspicion with their black clothing and
rebellious hipster attitudes.
It aired as part of the documentary series Soundings. The series examined the (as they said) "unspectacular but important events in Canadian communities." This weekly show looked at everything from suicide to hitchhiking, the science of sleep to divorce. It aired between 1959 and 1970.
