The continuing series called "As it Happened." As you might guess, it was produced by the folks at the CBC current affairs show, As it Happens.  In 1978, they set about creating audio flashbacks from the years 1936 to 1968.

On this show... it's 1943 and 1944.

1943 ushered in the 4th year of World War Two with the Allies feeling that victory was within reach.  On the homefront, Hollywood provided escape with feel good musicals and a little picture called Casa Blanca.
