Max Ferguson (undated - CBC Image Library)
Listen
Max Ferguson was a true radio genius- off beat, eccentric and totally
brilliant. He invented an entire repertory company of bizarre
characters- all voiced by Ferguson- to amuse himself and his audience.
He was known both within CBC and on air as a master satirist,
philosopher and prankster.
Max Ferguson died at the beginning of March at the age of 89, and we wanted to celebrate his wit and quirkiness by repeating a Rewind program that we first aired in 2010.
Ferguson was on the air on CBC Radio-
with several different programs- between 1946 and 1998, and on this
Rewind you'll hear him on a program called Something to Say in 1970.
