Yuppies

Back in the 80's if someone called you a yuppy, it hurt.  It meant that you were a shallow baby boomer who lived to consume.  A former hippy who sold out to the man.  A Bay street broker who drives a Porsche and eats sushi.  You were A Young Urban Professional.

In the 80's, yuppies were the talk -- and scorn -- of the town.  As housing prices went up and shoulder pads went wide, the yuppie personified what came to known as the decade of greed.

On this edition of Rewind, we follow the birth and rise of the yuppie through the 80's.  We look at where they lived, what they wore and what they ate.  And we ask whatever became of the yuppie?  Did they die a slow, agonizing death under an avalanche of credit card debt -- or are they still alive and walking among us?
