CBC and the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television proudly welcome the exciting line-up of presenters and special guests set to join hosts George Stroumboulopoulos and Andrea Martin, and Voice of the Genies, Rossif Sutherland - as well as a talented roster of musical artists - to help celebrate the year's biggest achievements in Canadian movies. An amazing lineup of star power will be on display when the 32nd ANNUAL GENIE AWARDS are broadcast live on CBC Television on Thursday, March 8 at 8 p.m. (8:30 NT). 

Special guests presenting at the 32nd ANNUAL GENIE AWARDS include screen legend Gordon Pinsent (Away From Her), Adam Beach (Arctic Air), Allan Hawco (Republic of Doyle), Zaib Shaikh (Midnight's Children, Little Mosque on the Prairie), Jason Priestley (Call Me Fitz), Karine Vanasse (Pan Am), Sarah Gadon (A Dangerous Method), Tyler Labine (Invasion), Cassie Steele (The L.A. Complex), Gregory Smith (Rookie Blue), Fefe Dobson (Home Again), Gabrielle Miller (Corner Gas), Kim Coates (Goon), this year's Voice of the Genies, Rossif Sutherland, and more. These special guests join the previously announced slate of musical artists, including Johnny Reid, The Sheepdogs, and K'NAAN. The 32nd ANNUAL GENIE AWARDS will also feature a special tribute to this year's Best Original Song nominees, presented by figure skating stars Joannie Rochette, Jamie Salé and David Pelletier.

Prior to the televised broadcast of the 32nd ANNUAL GENIE AWARDS at 8 p.m. (8:30 p.m. NT) on CBC Television, CBC Live will deliver all of the excitement and glamour of the red carpet, live as it happens at cbc.ca/live/genieawards. Canadian supermodel Stacey McKenzie will host the Genie Awards Red Carpet live stream for CBC Live from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. ET, sharing an exclusive look at the arrivals, red carpet fashion and pre-gala emotions. Fans can join in the conversation on Twitter via @CBCLive and @TheGenieAwards using the hashtag #GenieAwards. The 32nd ANNUAL GENIE AWARDS Pre-Show brings fans the non-televised broadcast portion of the awards gala live from 6 to 6:45 p.m. ET on CBC Live. And then from 7 to 8 p.m. ET, it's the Genie Awards Gala and Backstage Lounge.  Audiences can watch the live stream of the awards show online at CBC Live, where commercial breaks will be replaced by exclusive backstage access and interviews with presenters, nominees and winners, hosted by CBC Live's Jamey Ordolis, who will also be taking questions for the stars on Twitter via @CBCLive.
Launched by the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television in 1980, the Genie Awards are an annual celebration that honours Canada's film industry. Genie Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2011 will be presented on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at the Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto, Ontario, and broadcast live on CBC Television at 8 p.m. (8:30 NT).
