Saturday night's Game Two of the 2011 NHL Stanley Cup Final between the Vancouver Canucks and Boston Bruins was another blockbuster, drawing an average audience of 5.6 million viewers. The audience peaked at 7.7 million near the end of regulation time.
"Vancouver is clearly Canada's Team, and there's no question hockey is Canada's game," said Alan Dark, CBC's Executive Director of the revenue group.
"The excitement around this series shows no sign of waning, and we're expecting another absolutely massive audience for Game Three tonight. This is an exciting opportunity for marketers, as our entire nation is caught up in the Canucks' drive for the Stanley Cup!" Dark said.
