Watch his reports Sept. 10 and 11, on THE NATIONAL
As the hunt for the possible locations of Sir John Franklin's long lost ships intensifies in the high Arctic, CBC News chief correspondent Peter Mansbridge travels to Canada's North to dig deeper into the story. Mansbridge's exclusive reports air on THE NATIONAL, Monday, Sept. 10 and Tuesday, Sept. 11.
Announced last month by Prime Minister Stephen Harper, the expedition, led by Parks Canada, is attempting to close in on the remains of the two ships that set out in 1845 to traverse the Northwest Passage, only to disappear.
Now, new clues have been discovered--and THE NATIONAL will reveal them next week. THE NATIONAL airs at 10 p.m. (10:30 NT) on CBC-TV, and at 9 and 11 p.m. ET/PT on CBC News Network.
