AT ISSUE WRAPS THE DEFINING POLITICAL DEVELOPMENTS OF THE FIRST HALF OF 2012, JUNE 14 ON THE NATIONAL

The Insiders calls it a season on June 19

Halfway into 2012, Canada and the world have already seen their share of political and economic turmoil. From the election of Thomas Mulcair as Canada's new Leader of the Opposition, through a federal austerity budget, the horrors of the violence in Syria, continued turmoil in global markets and the potential exit of Greece from the Eurozone, it has been quite the ride.

Thursday, June 14, on THE NATIONAL, Peter Mansbridge convenes At Issue, Canada's most-watched political panel, for its season finale, featuring picks for the best and worst political plays of the first half of 2012.

The At Issue panel includes Chantal H├ębert, national affairs columnist, The Toronto Star; Andrew Coyne, political columnist, National Post; Bruce Anderson, a long-time public opinion researcher and political communications advisor; and guest-panellist
Althia Raj, Ottawa bureau chief, The Huffington Post Canada.

Then on Tuesday, June 19, The Insiders, Kathleen Monk, David Herle and Jaime Watt, wrap their season on THE NATIONAL.

THE NATIONAL airs at 10 p.m. (10:30 NT) on CBC Television; 9 and 11 p.m. ET/PT on CBC News Network. THE NATIONAL also streams live, beginning at 10 p.m. ET, and is available on-demand at CBCNews.ca/thenational. The season finale of At Issue also airs Saturday, June 16 at 6:30 and 11:30 p.m. ET on CBC News Network.
