SYNPOSIS:

CBC Television is pleased to announce the return of the hit daily cooking series, IN THE KITCHEN WITH STEFANO FAITA, to its daytime line-up. Beginning this September at 3:30 p.m., one of Quebec's most beloved food personalities, Stefano Faita will bring a second season of his family-friendly recipes and warm, instructional cooking style to CBC Television's powerhouse daytime line-up. The series emphasizes Stefano's fun and casual approach to cooking, inspired by his family's traditions and rich food history.

With two French television shows, two best-selling cookbooks, a bustling cooking school and a renowned housewares store to his credit, host Stefano Faita has long surpassed celebrity chef status in his hometown of Montreal. The first season of IN THE KITCHEN WITH STEFANO FAITA -- Stefano's first series for English Canada -- proved to be a huge success nationwide, drawing in legions of new fans from across the country. Stefano has charmed viewers with his informal, yet instructional, cooking style and has inspired people with his passion for using fresh, simple food. A family guy first and foremost, the trilingual foodie will continue to let viewers in on generations of cooking secrets and traditions, while providing candid and entertaining family stories along the way.

In every half-hour episode of IN THE KITCHEN WITH STEFANO FAITA, host Stefano Faita welcomes viewers and his LIVE studio audience to his warm, rustic open-concept kitchen, where he prepares two or more simple recipes that fit into the specific theme of the day. Each episode theme, such as "What to do with a Can of Tuna," "My First Dinner Party" or "Stefano's 'Fasta' Pastas," offers answers to common cooking questions, showcases invaluable cooking techniques and provides tips and tricks on how to make the most out of a specific ingredient. An advocate of cooking with creativity, Stefano encourages viewers to experiment with food and recipes, and offers a warm, inviting atmosphere for foodies and cooks of all levels. Stefano is joined by real people in his kitchen, teaching them fun new techniques and tips in a cooking-school type atmosphere.
