Air Date: April 24 2012

Le Vent du Nord and Harry Manx. (Video director: Ian Cameron/CBC)

For this Rendez-Vous, world renowned traditional Quebec band meets Harry Manx, a blues singer with a unique style.

Although they had met on the festival circuit, this is the first time they actually played together.  Le Vent du Nord have had many opportunities to collaborate on stage, and they have a very warm approach to playing with other musicians. Harry Manx is a loner with a very open mind. Together, they transformed each other's music by simply being themselves.

To his great surprise, hearing Le Vent du Nord's vocal harmonies on his songs gave a whole new sound to Harry Manx's choruses. This is the very first time that he accepted to sing in French and his genuine approach to music conveyed a new depth to these songs.

This session is a warm and friendly exchange, where artists get acquainted through music and allow themselves to be transported into the other's sonic world.  Playful and uplifting.
