Local musher and veterinarian to Robert Fawcett sentencing
The former operator of a Whistler sled dog company will spend 3 years on probation. Robert Fawcett must also pay a 15 hundred dollar fine. Fawcett pleaded guilty of causing unnecessary pain and suffering to nine sled dogs. They were killed as part of a cull of many other dogs.
For her reaction to this ongoing story, Rebecca spoke with Dr. Pam Barker. She's a veterinarian and musher in 100 Mile House. She was also a member of BC's Sled Dog Working Group. It developed the province's sled dog code of practice, released earlier this year.
