Garbage attracting bears
The Northern Lights Wildlife Shelter in Smithers provides homes for bear cubs that are orphaned. The shelter recently acquired four cubs: two from Kamloops, two from Moricetown. In both cases, the bears were orphaned after their mothers were shot by conservation officers. Rebecca spoke with Angelika Langen who owns the shelter.
