When a contentious California court case over marriage wasn't televised, one U.S. screenwriter decided to make it public in his own way. He got the transcripts, turned them into theatre, and "8" The Play was born.

A Nelson production of the play opens Kootenay Pride this weekend. Michael Graham is the man who brought it to town, and he told guest host Manusha Janakiram why it makes great theatre.
