Smarty Plants

Whether you're peeling a potato or chopping up lettuce for a salad, you'd probably like to think you live in a world where plants don't do much but grow roots and produce seeds. But you'd be wrong. It turns out plants are a lot like us: they can sniff out food, nurture their young, wage war and even communicate. This exciting new area of botany is the subject of a new The Nature of Things documentary called Smarty Plants.  Rebecca spoke with writer-director, Erna Buffie to learn more.
