Air Canada Labour Troubles
Ottawa has asked the Canadian Industrial Relations Board to investigate Air Canada's dispute with its various unions, a move that will buy some time to hammer out a deal and avoid a work stoppage threatened for midnight Sunday. The airline had planned to lock-out pilots on Monday, and the union representing the airline's mechanics, baggage handlers and cargo agents said they would walk off the job this weekend.
