Tonight at the Drake underground, Toronto's Diana Salvatore performs an evening of old soul and retro.

Salvatore won the BMG Music Search and has shared an artist compliation CD with Destinys Child, Britney Spears and N'sync. We played you a little of that retro sound in the song Why Do I do

Afrofest is still a couple of months away, but big changes are afoot...including a location change.

The annual festival that celebrates African culture and music is moving from Queens Park to Woodbine Park.

The festival takes place July 7th and 8th, but its official launch is next week at the Gladstone Hotel.

One of the performers at the launch is Toronto's Njacko Backo. You heard him with 'Kongossa Plus.

Tomorrow night in Mississauga the MARTY awards will be handed out to some of the best local talent.

The Mississauga Arts Council celebrates the artistic achievements of the city's established talent.Among those nominated is Liberty Silver.

Liberty Silver made her professional singing debut at age 12. She opened for reggae legend, "Bob" Marley, at Madison Square Gardens in New York City. In the mid- 1980s she won 3 Juno Awards for Best R&B Single and Reggae/Calypso Recording. She also won a Grammy for her part in Tears are Not Enough, Canada's Famine Relief

Her latest album is , Groove Symphony and from it we played a little retro number called Take All My Loving

He's being described as the most successful rapper you've never heard of.

Toronto based MC-producer Muneshine is considered an ambassador for Canadian hip hop in Japan. He's sold tens of thousands of records.

Yesterday Muneshine released his latest solo disc There is Only Today. It's not what you would expect. It's a departure from your typical hip-hop record, and offers instead a mix of old style soul, and R&B

From that new disc by Muneshine, we played Home Sweet Home.
