School wins for innovation: St. Francis School in Harbour Grace won a special Award of Merit at the 2012 Export and Innovation Awards for its consistent efforts to introduce students to experiences that encourage them to think, create and innovate. Coyote snare strangles family pet

A routine walk in the country just after Christmas turned into a nightmare for Laurie Short-Cahill and her family.  Her dog Riley got caught in a coyote snare near a popular cabin area and died.  Now she's speaking up about the incident in the hope it won't happen to anyone else.  Maggie Gillis reached her for the story.
