Hurricane Igor Assistance Program Ends

The Canadian Red Cross has officially wrapped up its Hurricane Igor Assistance program.  It was three months ago today that Igor caused so much damage.  In the days following, the Canadian Red Cross launched an appeal to help out people affected by the hurricane.  That included a big benefit concert in St. John's in early October that was broadcast on CBC Radio One.  Anna Power is the Operations Manager for the Canadian Red Cross in Newfoundland and Labrador.

 

Frustrated Marine Atlantic passenger

Nerves are frayed at the Marine Atlantic terminal in North Sydney.  Yesterday, Marine Atlantic cancelled all sailings to Port Aux Basques until later this week, when high winds die down.  Hundreds of stranded passengers are waiting to get back to Newfoundland on the next available ship.  Dwayne Campbell is one of them.  He spoke to Radio Canada reporter Fern Devost at the Marine Atlantic terminal in North Sydney earlier this morning.
