Hundreds of Iron Ore Company of Canada workers got a huge surprise at a union meeting in Labrador City this morning. They had gathered to hear details of the latest contract offer from IOC. An offer their union was recommending workers to reject. But when the meeting started IOC announced big changes to the offer. The CBC's Mike Power was not allowed into the meeting but he still staked it out.
Prime Minister Stephen Harper notified Conservative M-Ps this week that changes are coming to their pension plans. Right now, an MP only has to serve for six years before collecting a pension. And that can be done as early as age 55. Ryan Cleary is the NDP MP for St. John's South-Mount Pearl.
