Ethel Dickinson memorial
Chances are you've never heard of Ethel Dickinson, even though there's a huge monument to her memory in St. John's.
She was a volunteer nurse during the first world war, and during the Spanish Flu outbreak.
And she paid a high price.
The Association of Registered Nurses of Nfld and Lab is holding a wreath-laying ceremony at the monument this afternoon to mark National Nursing Week.
Beverly White is the President of the association.
