Gail Fraser, Associate Professor, Faculty of Environmental Studies, York University
On Monday, March 28, the drill rig Henry Goodrich spilled more than 26-thousand litres of synthetic based drilling mud spilled into the ocean.
The fact that it happened only became public Thursday march 31..
We spoke to Sean Kelly, the spokesperson for the Canada Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board.
He told us the mud went straight to the bottom of the ocean ... and therefore wouldn't affect seabirds in the area.
But Gail Fraser questions that.
She's an associate professor of environmental studies at York University.
She joins me on the line from Toronto.
