Jamie Merrigan on Newman bail

justice.jpgA man facing new charges, on top of a charge of murdering his former spouse, is free on bail. 33-year old Raymond Gerald Newman faces the 2nd degree murder charge in connection with the death of Chrissy Predham Newman She was stabbed to death in her apartment in 2007. After Raymond Newman was charged in connection with her death, he was released on bail. Then in February, he faced new charges: of assaulting a man and uttering death threats against him. Raymond Newman wound up in custody. But yesterday, he was granted bail on those charges. To help explain the legal principles at play, we have Corner Brook lawyer Jamie Merrigan.
