About the Host
Twenty years as a television journalist including eight years as a weather specialist and six years in radio, Marilyn Maki brings a wealth of experience both on and off the air to her role as host of CBC's Radio Noon. She joined the Radio Noon team in 2003.
Marilyn says she loves her job because it allows her to speak with people all over the province about their lives and what's happening in their communities.
Her curious nature, warmth and a great sense of humour are an asset to the show.
When she's not hard at work, you'll often find Marilyn in her perennial garden in the summer.
She also likes to walk, sew and cook gourmet meals for all her friends as well as the love of her life Philip who she married in 1985. They enjoy traveling together, and have spent a lot of time in Australia, North America and Europe.
Besides Philip and her good friends, Marilyn has always had a cat in her life. Currently, it's Marigold. The beautiful tabby can usually be found on the back of the big comfy chair in Marilyn's bay window. She is Marilyn's biggest fan.
