About the Host
Host of CBC Radio Active
3-6pm weekdays on CBC Radio One ( 93.9FM/740AM)
Portia Clark is the host of CBC Radio Active from 3-6pm weekdays on CBC Radio One in Edmonton.
Portia Clark has been with the CBC for 15 years, in a career that has bridged both radio and television. She started her career at CBC Radio in Halifax, and has been working in Edmonton for the last 13 years, first in radio news, then as cohost of Edmonton AM, before moving to anchor CBC TV's supper hour newscast. Her appointment to Radio Active returns Portia to her radio roots in broadcasting.
Portia has established a record as a trusted and versatile host - anchoring and guiding coverage of news events in Alberta from the Queen's visit to Alberta, the BSE crisis and the road to recovery in Slave Lake, as well as provincial budgets and elections.
Portia is actively involved in our community and enjoys participating and supporting a variety of local community events. Personally, she likes to run and enjoy our city's river valley with her husband, Gareth and two children, as well as spending time in the mountains or experimenting with food.
