From Your Kitchen - Amy's Chocolate Chip Cookies

2/3 c. Salted butter, softened
1/2 c. Dark or medium dark brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. White sugar
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1 egg
1-1/2 c. All purpose, unbleached flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. sea salt
1/2 c. Pecans, halved or chopped
1 c. Chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F
1. Mix butter and sugars at medium speed with a mixer/beaters until creamy.
2. Add egg and vanilla to mixer and gently mix in until blended.
3. In separate bowl combine flour, sea salt & baking soda, stirring with wooden spoon to blend. Add dry bowl mix to your wet ingredients.
4. Mix on low speed until blended. Then stir in pecans and chocolate chips with wooden spoon.
5. Drop by rounded tablespoons into a cookie sheet or a baking stone.
6. Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges of cookies are light golden brown and tips of the cookies have cracked.
7. After cooking time is complete, take tray out of oven and let the cookies rest on pan for 2 minutes then remove to a cooling rack (a plate or wooden cutting board is fine too) to cool completely.
8. Makes 35-40 cookies.
